Weekend Wanderings

My Man and I went exploring this Sunday, we wandered through Mouille Point. What we found was pretty impressive, who knew that Cape Town had it's very own Biodiversity Garden. It was great seeing families relaxing in Green Point Park, which is where the Biodiversity Garden is hidden.
What would a trip to Mouille Point be without going to see the lighthouse? It is the oldest operational lighthouse in the country, built in the 1800's.
Next we took a lovely walk along the promenade and discovered a maze! We paid our R20 each and were dutifully told the history of mazes and how "young lovers" are to find each other in the center of the maze and embrace, by the elderly gentleman at the pay booth. We headed off each in a separate direction and with a bit of waiting around in the middle, My Man found me. It was a very novel experience and while not quite what we held in our minds as a traditional maze, this one was certainly a true "Only In Africa" kind of maze :)

What an awesome day spent in fantastic company, this little hidden treasure is something we would recommend as a way to spend a Sunday. There is even a putt putt golf course next to the maze.
